NOVA Strategies helps clients realize the maximum value from the remarketing of their owned surplus equipment. Recognizing that our clients' internal remarketing and disposal efforts were too time consuming and often resulted in negligible proceeds, we have partnered with a company specializing in remarketing used computer equipment to their extensive network of customers, resellers, and brokers.

We assist our clients by managing the entire asset retirement process. NOVA’s Asset Retirement Services include:

• Coordinating the collection, packaging, and shipment of surplus assets to our facilities in Virginia and Pennsylvania;
• Completing detailed inventories of all serialized assets;
• Thoroughly auditing and testing each item to ascertain its condition and marketability;
• Re-formatting storage devices to cleanse them of all data;
• Recycling, in accordance with EPA guidelines, all units that are damaged or otherwise not marketable;
• Preparing items suitable for remarketing, including removal of all references to the client;
• Managing the sale of all suitable assets by our remarketing coordinators, each of whom has over 15 years of industry experience;
• Providing clients with reports indicating the current status or disposition of each asset via our web-based tracking system;
• Providing clients with a Bill of Sale for all items collected, specifying each serial number, to transfer responsibility for proper recycling, etc.; and
• Completing detailed reconciliations of all sales, disposals, etc., indicating the net amount due to the client from remarketing.

• We coordinate the pick-up, packaging, and shipping of assets to our facilities.
• Our experienced remarketing coordinators are encouraged to maximize values by selling to retail rather than wholesale customers whenever possible.
• Coupled with an effective planning process, equipment retirement is a critical step in any systematic refresh program.

NOVA can also assist clients by preparing leased computer assets for return to the lessor and minimizing the fees often charged for missing components or damaged equipment.

• All units are thoroughly audited and tested, hard drives are re-formatted and cleansed of data, and all references to the client are removed.
• Missing components, such as power supply cords, are replaced, typically with used parts.
• Damaged units are repaired or replaced, assuming it is financially prudent to do so, typically with used parts.
• Units are packaged and shipped to the lessor, with indemnification to the client for any equipment that is damaged upon arrival at the lessor.
• If the lease allows, comparable units can be substituted for lost, missing, or damaged units.
